New this weekThe temple keeps Sri Krishna Janmashtami on 4 September this year, and calls it the 5253rd appearance day of Lord Krishna. You can join in person at Vrindavan, where accommodation and meals are arranged for those who come, or follow it online from anywhere. Sevas for the day are listed on the temple's own page, from the Laddu Gopal abhishek to annadan and gau seva.

Festival
The temple marked the Panihati Chida Dahi Mahotsav and Nauka Vihar Utsav together. The morning began with a mango alankara for the deities and a Chappan Bhog, then a pallaki carried Sri Sri Gaura Nitai to the pond for a panchamrita and pushpa abhisheka. Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa spoke on the festival, the deities were rowed across the water in a decorated boat, and chida dahi mahaprasadam was handed out from the boat to the gathered devotees.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj founded this temple in Barsana, and it opened on Basant Panchami in February 2019. Radha Rani is here as a child, seated in the lap of Kirti Maiya, her mother, with Shri Sita Ram on one side and Shri Radha Krishna on the other. It stands 111 feet, mixes Nagara and Dravidian styles, and carries 22 gold leafed kalash. Darshan runs 8:30 to noon, then 4:30 to 8 in the evening.

Jiva Goswami established this temple in 1542 at Seva Kunj, and it ranks among the seven original Goswami temples of Vrindavan. When Aurangzeb's forces reached the town in 1670, the deities were carried to Jaipur for safety and did not return until 1739.

Two brothers from Mathura, Seth Sri Radhakrishnaji and Sri Govind Dasji, built this temple between 1845 and 1851 under the guidance of Sri Rangadeshik Swamiji, modelling it on the Ranganatha temple at Srirangam. Its seven-story western gopuram and Jaipur-carved stone gates mix south and north Indian temple architecture in a way found nowhere else in the town.

Two brothers from Lucknow, Shah Kundan Lal and Shah Phundan Lal, began building this temple to Thakur Radha Raman in 1860, and the work took eight years. Its Basanti Kamra, also called Rituraj Bhawan, hangs fifteen Belgian glass chandeliers in white, crimson, yellow, orange red, and green beneath a painted dome.

The district tells the legend plainly: Krishna came to tease Radha and her friends in her village, and Barsana's women chased him off. Men from Nandgaon still visit every spring, and the women still greet them with lathis, in the compound of what the district calls the only temple in the country dedicated to Radha.

ISKCON Vrindavan holds it from 23 to 28 August 2026. Sri Sri Radha Govinda are seated on a swing dressed in fragrant flowers, and devotees come to gently swing them, offer flowers, and sing kirtan. The temple calls it the divine swing festival of the monsoon.

Culture
Radha Rani's own temple keeps this as one of its two great festivals, alongside Lathmar Holi. It falls on the eighth day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada, the day the temple says Radha appeared, in Barsana, her birthplace. Lakhs of people come. They walk the parikrama of Gahvar Van on the hill, take darshan of Ladli Ji, and the town stays awake all night with kirtan and singing.
